Terms and Conditions of Stay - Atherton Backpackers Effective 01.01.2025

1. Booking and Payment Policies 1.1. All bookings are subject to availability. 1.2. Payment must be made in full upon or prior to check-in. Prices include taxes unless otherwise specified 1.3. No refunds will be provided for early check-outs or shortened stays. 1.4. This property does not accept any bookings for Schoolies, Hens or Bucks parties. 158. Guests booking weekly stays must make weekly payments on the same day of the week as their initial check-in day. Failure to adhere to this payment schedule may result in cancellation of the booking. 

 

2. Identification Requirement -  2.1. All guests must provide valid photo identification upon check-in 2.2. For dorm rooms, guests under 35 years of age must present a valid passport with a current Working Holiday Visa (WHV) or Tourist Visa and a credit/debit card under their own name. 2.3. Guests over 35 years must book private single or double rooms, subject to availability. 2.4. Management reserves the right to refuse accommodation to any guest who fails to meet ID requirements. 3. Age Restrictions 3.1. All guests must be 18 years or older. Children under 18 are not permitted to stay, including those accompanied by parents or guardians.  4. Stay Duration and Extensions 4.1. Maximum stay is 90 days unless approved by management. 4.2. Extensions may be granted at management's discretion and are subject to availability and seasonality.

 

3. House Rules 3.1. Alcohol and Drugs - Strictly no alcohol or drugs are permitted on the premises, including dorms and private rooms. - Penalties for non-compliance may include immediate removal and termination of the stay without refund. 3.2. Smoking & E-scooters/Bicycles - Smoking, including e-cigarettes/vapes, is permitted only in designated smoking areas. - Smoking in rooms or non-designated areas is prohibited and will result in a cleaning fee and immediate removal. - E-scooters and E-bicycles are not permitted within the hotel grounds. 3.3. Behaviour - Atherton Backpackers maintains a respectful and inclusive environment. Disorderly conduct, including intoxication, abusive language, or disruptive behaviour, may result in removal without refund. 3.4. Eviction - Management reserves the right to immediately apply eviction without refund, to any guest who violates the house rules, including but not limited to: - Intoxication - Excessive noise - Allowing non-guests entry - Uncleanliness - Disorderly behaviour - Sexual harassment - Unauthorized filming of guests.

 

4. Refusal of Stay 4.1. Atherton Backpackers reserves the right to refuse accommodation for reasons including but not limited to: - Intoxication - Inappropriate behaviour - Sexual Harassment - Failure to meet ID or age requirements - Past violations of hostel rules 10. Liability and Loss 10.1. Guests are responsible for their personal belongings. The hostel accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal property. 10.2. Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the hostel’s property during their stay and will be charged accordingly. 11. Safety and Security 11.1. The hostel operates extensive CCTV in all common areas for safety and security purposes. 11.2. Guests must adhere to all fire safety and evacuation procedure 11.3. For safety and security purposes, visitors are not permitted inside the hostel.

 

5. Amendments and Cancellations 5.1. Cancellations made within 24 hours of check-in will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the first night’s stay 5.2. Amendments to bookings are subject to availability and management approval. 

 

6.. Acceptance of Terms By confirming a booking, guests agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Management reserves the right to update terms as required, and the latest version will be displayed on-site and on the website.
